Epiphany Halo Qualify For ESL Major League

Sun 1st Mar 2015 - 3:06pm

We at Epiphany Interactive are very proud to announce that our Halo team have secured a place in the ESL Major League thanks to taking home the win in the second qualifier. We are very proud of the team and hope that this is a turning point for the team and propels them to new heights.

The tournament got off to a great a start with the team being awarded the number 1 seed which allowed them the first round bye and extra time to prepare for there pending match with OTAJ a very good team. The team came out fighting but went down 2-1 on Shrine Flag to go down 0-1 in the series. Coming into the second map Warlod Flag they knew they would have to play better to stay alive and were able to take it in a very close game winning 4-3 to force a deciding game three. The team came out slow on Lockdown Ball going down by 80 seconds really quickly. As the game wore on the team was still behind by 60 seconds with only 3 minutes to go facing a huge mountain to climb Mattie Dempster got a huge kill on the sword player with ball following that kill Matt and Aled where able to hold on to the ball for nearly the next minutes and end up winning 200-183 to take the series and advance to play against Zero Effort in the finals. Coming off such a thrilling win the team came out firing on all cylinders and took the win 3-0 on Shrine Flag to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Starting off game two technical difficulties required the team to play without communicating with one player and it showed as the team took a hard loss on Warlord King of the Hill 200-173 which forced them into another deciding game three. After winning the last game three the team where confident they could do it again this time on Warlord Team Slayer. The game started off with both teams trading kills with Epiphany having a three kill lead at the 25 Kill where finally the guys were able to get in a full setup and secure 9 straight kills to take a big lead where they were able to hold on to the lead and breeze to a 50-35 to win the series and the event. With the win they are entered in the Halo Major League on ESL and earn a shot at winning their share of 1000 Euro prize pool.

We spoke with Mattie Dempester about the win and how it felt and he had this to say.

"It felt absolutely incredible to win. We couldn't believe it when it happened, since only Brightside had won anything before but even he hadn't won anything online. We were so hyped espicially since we dominated in the final game. The only thing missing was that we had no one to high five after the final. It also meant that we were able to pay Epiphany back for there loyalty and patience with us and we hope we can now continue to perform well leading up to iSeries.

We could not be happier with how the team is growing and we can not wait to see how this level of confidence affects there gameplay and results in the future.
